POSITION/ROLE OVERVIEW
The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the College of Performing Arts seeks highly motivated students to serve as Jazz Video & Lights, Student Assistant Specialist. We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual(s) to support initiatives within The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. This position reports to the Part Time Operations Manager and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in lighting design, video production, or live event production.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.
CORE CAPABILITIES, PRIMARY DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage lighting setup and operation for live events and performances.
  • Operate and manage live streaming for events hosted on the College of Performing Arts YouTube channel.
  • Set up and break down audio and video equipment before and after performances.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to ensure the successful execution of performances and events.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive presence during rehearsals and live shows.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with video live streaming tools and techniques.
  • Basic understanding of lighting setup and management.
  • Strong organizational and file management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recipient of Federal Work Study award.
  • Previous experience in live sound, lighting, or video production.
  • Knowledge of advanced lighting techniques and video production equipment.

WORK MODE
This position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement. #LI-DNI
HOURLY RATE
$18.00
Hours per Week: 3-20, or as needed. Not to exceed 20 hours in a single workweek.
