Job description

Job Overview
The AV Technician Student Intern will assist in the planning, production, and post-production of multimedia projects. This role provides hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, preparing the intern for professional opportunities in media production, broadcasting, marketing, and related fields. This is a temporary position sponsored by the Department of Enterprise Funds.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up, operating, and maintaining audio and video equipment for studio and field productions.
  • Capture high-quality video and audio for projects including interviews, promotional pieces, live events, and educational content.
  • Organize and manage media assets, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and archiving.
  • Perform basic and advanced video editing using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or similar.
  • Support sound design, mixing, and mastering tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the production team on storyboarding, scripting, and shot lists.
  • Assist with setup and camera operation under supervision.
  • Research creative ideas and techniques to enhance production quality.
  • Ensure all content adheres to district branding, copyright, and accessibility standards.
  • Demonstrate professional skills through clear and concise communication.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring hardware and equipment poses no dangers to human safety.
  • Maintain documentation of work policies and procedures and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform department specific projects and duties as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interns will be paid $30 per game. AV Practicum students are guaranteed a minimum of 10 hours per week at $10/hour. Hours worked during sporting events count toward the weekly minimum.

Qualification Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities, required unless otherwise stated as preferred.   • Current High School Student
  • Valid Texas Drivers License
  • FBISD Audio/Video Production Practicum student preferred
  • Basic computing skills, including MS office required

Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
