Job description

Position Summary

Join STERIS as a Director, IT Applications where you will manage multiple teams of global IT staff responsible for the support of enterprise level software applications. You will manage System Change Requests, prioritization, development and release. As a Director you will partner with the IT and Business Process Owners (BPO) to understand and implement IT and Business Strategies and provide expertise and thought leadership to business teams in implementing software applications. You will also work closely with acquisition integration teams, providing technical guidance and support.

You will have responsibility for support of all HR Systems, Document Management Systems Application Integration Platform, Contract Management, S&OP applications, ServiceNow based applications and other back office applications.

*This position is located in Mentor, Ohio with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

What You'll Do as a Director, IT Applications
  • Prioritizes, manages and participates in projects, development and implementation of enhancements and/or changes.
  • Manages the Software Change Requests and manages its priority, development and software releases.
  • Streamlines and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques and contribute to the technical code documentation. Reviews and sign-offs on code.
  • Accountable for process improvement and metrics that demonstrate efficient delivery of software services and projects, drive efficiency of delivery and value to the Company.
  • Work with cloud application providers and implements standards for integrating with STERIS applications
  • Partner with the IT and BPO to define Service Level Agreement's (SLAs) and negotiate appropriate support commitments for existing applications.
  • Maintain knowledge on product direction and future offerings of enterprise application vendors.
  • Provide recommendations for IT technology strategy and budget planning as relates to assigned applications.Ensure application systems and systems architecture remain in compliance with corporate and departmental standards and regulations
  • Maintain knowledge on software product direction and future offerings of enterprise application vendors.
  • Collaborate with IT peers in project execution and delivery
  • Adhere to LEAN methodology and best practices for application support, maintenance and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with IT and Business Process Owners (BPO) to plan and deliver application related strategies
  • Develop and maintain a strong business relationship in multiple areas such as - HR, Payroll, Training, Contracts etc
  • Advise on the feasibility of potential future projects.
  • Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis; ensure that project goals are accomplished according to specifications and business objectives, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Actively listen to business needs and discern patterns of capabilities that need to be delivered to continue business growth.
  • Collaborate with acquisition integration teams to implement standard STERIS processes and applications for acquired businesses.
  • Manage varying levels of IT personnel globally, including managers, leads, architects, analysts and software developers.
  • Develop and support employee training and education that align with IT strategy.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 18+ years of progressive application technology experience including 10 years of experience managing teams in systems analysis and/or programming functions.
  • 8+ years of experience in managing multiple global and enterprise level applications
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in software development
  • Knowledge of business application systems, systems infrastructure, ERP application, Manufacturing application, customer relationship management (CRM), People systems, eCommerce applications, Documentmanagement systems and general business operations and functions.
  • Experience developing project work plans and budgets.
  • Experience negotiating contract with software vendors.
  • Prior experience in a hands on software development and/or software support role.

Preferred:

  • Experience with one or more of the following: SAP SuccessFactors, Onbase, BOOMI (other integration tools), Agiloft

Pay range for this opportunity is $150,000-$176,000. This position is bonus and LTI eligible.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
