Job description

Position Title: Cloud Ops System Administrator Jr

Location: On-site, National Capital Region

Position Type: Full-Time


Position Summary: Cintel is looking for a Jr. Cloud Ops / Sys Admin (AWS / Windows) to join our team to support the FM&C infrastructure team assisting multiple ASA-FM&C cloud systems involving Microsoft, Linux, and various cloud native services hosted in AWS.


Responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring AWS accounts in the cARMY environment.
Provides cloud and administrative support to system implementation teams and coordinates higher level changes across cARMY teams.
Provide consistent and reliable cloud ops support.
Support system deployments to multiples environments (DEV, TEST, PROD, and more)
Terraform or CloudFormation scripts to manage cloud infrastructure for each system.
TTP (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) Documentation for work in cARMY Confluence
Maintains high level architecture diagrams and documentation for systems in cARMY
Tracks infrastructure change requests for FM&C cloud systems in cARMY Jira
Maintain and troubleshoot Windows 2019 cloud hosted servers.
User account configuration, management & provisioning
Test and deploy software, patches, and firmware updates.
Provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
Work with Cybersecurity team to document and maintain security requirements.
System dashboards to visualize system health and performance using CloudWatch Logs


Required Qualifications:

2+ years Amazon Web Services (AWS) proficiency: ECS (Fargate) or EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, State Machines / Step Functions, EventBridge, CloudWatch, IAM, Developer Tools (Code Commit, Code Build, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline)
2+ years' experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
2+ years' experience creating/maintaining CI/CD pipelines: Building, Testing, and Deploying
2+ years' experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code): Terraform
Experience with implementing STIG and patching on various operating systems.
Experience with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
Experience with deploying / maintaining Microsoft based applications (.NET, IIS, SQL Server)
Understanding of various authentication methods: PKI, OAuth, LDAP, SAML, etc
Understanding of TLS/SSL including PKI Certificates (CAC, PIV, etc.)
Currently possesses or can obtain required certifications within 2 months of employment: CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Linux+ (or other approved Computing Environment certification)
Experience with Agile projects and development including Agile tools such as JIRA.
Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently (as if on an island) with clients, but also be a consummate team player.
Active SECRET clearance
Must live in the National Capital Region to support SIPR when required.


Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge/expertise in DOD Cybersecurity Policy DoDI 8500.01
Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) information security requirements, standards, and best practices
Experience deploying applications in DoD or other accredited federal environments that require IA certification and accreditation to deploy.
Experience with securing sensitive data (including security marking standards such as DoD Banner Lines or ISM)
Ability to rapidly code proof of concepts to help with analysis of alternatives (should be a person who can code in mixed environments) and prove out ideas.
Experience deploying/maintaining some or all the following application types: Angular, Node.js, Java (Spring Boot)
Understanding of high availability and scalability techniques at the app, API, and data tiers including concepts such as sharding.
Experience with an API Gateway (such as Kong, Tyk, Apigee, etc)
