Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliations: Oversee and perform general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet analysis.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Provide analytical support for cost control and revenue optimization initiatives.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies. Assist with audits (internal and external) and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable & Cash Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll interface, and cash management processes. Administer house banks and conduct audits as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and develop accounting staff, including training and performance management. Collaborate with department heads across the resort on financial matters.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Utilize hotel accounting systems (e.g., Delphi, Opera, or similar) to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure data integrity.
  • Special Projects: Support the Controller with financial modeling, capital expenditure tracking, tax filings, and other ad-hoc projects as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Controller role. Hotel or resort hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Proficiency with hotel accounting systems, Microsoft Excel (advanced), and general ledger software. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Personal Attributes: High attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive problem-solver. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with operations teams.
  • Keys-Specific: Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Florida Keys area. Flexible schedule to support month-end deadlines. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
