Work Schedule11:00 pm - 7:00 am with rotating days off. Weekend hours required.
Mandatory PositionThis position is designated as 'mandatory' and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions.
Primary Purpose of PositionProvides security to resident students and their guest or visitors. Enforces Housing and Residence Life policies and patrols residence halls to ensure coverage of all residences.
Minimum Education/ExperienceRequired Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require a valid N.C. driver's license.

Essential Job Duties - Positions in this class perform protective, security, and enforcement work to support campus operations, ensuring the safety of property, facilities, and residents.
- Duties include patrolling interior and exterior areas by foot, vehicle, or other means.
- Monitoring security systems.
- Enforcing Housing and Residence Life and University policies, and responding to emergencies or suspicious activity.
- Provide information and assistance to the public, maintain records and reports, and uphold confidentiality.
- Foster positive relationships with students and guests, ensuring a respectful and safe residential environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and applicable regulations, as well as proficiency in using security and surveillance equipment.
- Positions may require shift, weekend, and/or overtime work, and are designated as mandatory during adverse weather or campus emergencies.
Other Work ResponsibilitiesDepartmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education - Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and applicable regulations, as well as proficiency in using security and surveillance equipment.
