Addison Group is partnering with our client, a construction organization seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee grading and paving operations. This individual will play a key role in managing field crews, coordinating daily operations, maintaining project quality, and ensuring work progresses safely and efficiently.

Job Description:

The General Superintendent will oversee day-to-day grading and paving activities across active job sites, with a strong emphasis on paving operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on supervisory experience in both grading and paving and be comfortable leading crews of approximately 10–15 employees. This position will work closely with management to coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, schedules, and field operations while addressing challenges that arise throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily activities for grading and paving crews and ensure work is completed according to project requirements.
  • Lead field teams of approximately 10–15 employees while maintaining productivity and accountability.
  • Monitor job-site operations to support high standards for workmanship, safety, and efficiency.
  • Partner with management on project scheduling, resource allocation, and day-to-day operational planning.
  • Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate the availability and use of materials, machinery, and other field resources.
  • Help identify and resolve field issues that could affect project timelines or productivity.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure employees follow applicable safety procedures.
  • Adjust daily operations based on weather conditions, project priorities, and changing schedules.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience supervising grading and paving operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Superintendent or comparable field leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience with both grading and paving.
  • Strong understanding of construction-site operations and crew supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 3 years.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in hot weather and physically demanding job-site conditions.

  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
