Job description

Delivery Driver

Sam Rust Seafood is seeking reliable and professional delivery drivers to join our team in both full-time and part-time capacities. This role includes the delivery of fresh, frozen, and live seafood products to a wide range of valued clients, from fine dining establishments to retail markets. Some warehouse duties will also be required as part of the position.

Sam Rust Seafood is a trusted processor and distributor of premium seafood, offering exceptional service and top-quality products. Our delivery areas include Hampton Roads, Richmond, and regional locations such as Virginia's Eastern Shore, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Fredericksburg, Lynchburg, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Deliveries are made using our fleet of refrigerated trucks.

Full-time candidates must be available Monday through Saturday. Part-time candidates must be available Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the interview process. All shifts will be day shifts.

Compensation & Benefits: Benefits vary upon employment status.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 22 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record (0 or positive points)
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to lift 75 pounds consistently
  • Customer service mindset
  • Willingness to assist with warehouse tasks as needed
  • Experience with hand trucks/dollies and loading/unloading procedures
  • Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Must pass a drug test and background check
  • Will be required to obtain a DOT Medical Card pre-employment and maintain throughout duration of employment
  • Prior delivery experience is preferred but not required
  • Safely operate up to a 16-foot box truck
