Position Purpose
This position assists the RV Park Manager in the daily supervision and operation of the campground. In the absence of the Manager, the supervisor may be called upon to fulfill management duties. Supervisors are expected to be knowledgeable of the duties performed in non-supervisory positions and capable of completing the essential functions of those positions.
This position requires that the employee be available to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Hours are based on seasonal periods with varying requirements based on volume, weather, and may have periods where less than full time employment is offered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • 2 Years Lead or Supervisory experience in a retail or a campground setting.
  • Prior front desk or reservations experience.
  • Ability to maintain and improve visual displays throughout Gift Shop.
  • Researching and presentation of new products on a regular basis. Continually improve profitability.
  • Maintain contact with vendors on orders in conjunction with setting up the vendor accounts.
  • Understanding of trends in RV lifestyle and retail gift shop items preferred.
  • Maintain a cooperative, positive and friendly attitude towards customers and coworkers, which exemplifies the Feather Falls and KOA commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Wear the KOA uniform at all times when on duty, insuring that it is clean with nametag present and clearly displayed.
  • Responsible for completing the essential duties and responsibilities of a Store Clerk & RV Park Housekeeper position.
  • Help to train and orientate new employees on the Feather Falls/KOA policies and procedures that govern their job positions. Participate in the training of subordinates on computer terminals, reservation and registration programs, point of sale registers and credit card equipment.
  • Be knowledgeable in the current marketing strategies within the KOA system and insure that new promotions and offers are passed on to subordinates.
  • Resolve complaints and/or disputes from employees or customers within the authority level of their position. Insure that the Campground Manager is made aware of all customer and employee issues that required supervisory involvement.
  • Insure that all company funds, assets, and equipment are safeguarded at all times.
  • Monitor all equipment and tools and insure that they are used in a manner consistent with safe work practices and procedures.
  • Monitor the Campground for compliance with federal and state safety programs that govern the use of appropriate safety equipment along with the use and storage of chemicals.
  • Offer recommendations to the Campground Manager on the performance of assigned staff personnel. If the Campground Manager assigns appraisals or reviews to the Supervisor, they are required to complete the task.
  • Conform to and comply with the general policies as outlined in the Feather Falls employee handbook.
  • When necessary make contact with emergency services for guest or employee accidents or illnesses.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Campground Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the direct supervision of shift personnel whenever the Manager is not on property; may also supervise campground employees when the Manager is present but involved in other duties.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. This position requires strong customer service skills along with enough computer literacy to quickly learn the KOA reservation, registration, credit card, and point of sale programs and functions and the ability to teach new employees how to use the system.  Prior supervisor experience is required.  Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required; or six months to one year related experience and or combination of training and work experience in a similar work position.   Language SkillsAbility to read and assimilate technical information in a manner that will allow for the repair and maintenance of camp ground equipment. They must be able to convey their point of view, instructions and requirements to management, subordinate staff, or customers verbally. Written communications must also be clear and concise. Mathematical SkillsAbility to add subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10΄s and 100΄s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve campground issues is a must. The ability to deal with standardized situations, as well as, complex variables that could have several possible outcomes is also necessary. 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A valid Driver’s License may be required
Certification to supply propane (training and certification provided by employer)
 

Candidates for all positions must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Applicants must have a California I.D., a Social Security Card, and a Birth Certificate.
