Job description

* This is a hybrid remote position that requires the individual to live within proximity to Indiana.*
Serves as the Legal Counsel for duties related to Parkview Physicians Group and Parkview Health's provider arrangements. Assists the organization in all aspects of contracting for all providers (physicians, advanced practice providers, psychologists, and others) and provider arrangements at Parkview Health. This may include assisting in compensation compliance, governance, and strategy to ensure arrangements are fair market value and commercially reasonable. Reviews and drafts a wide range of provider contracts, including employment contracts, professional service agreements, call coverage agreements and administrative service agreements. Helps address the general legal matters, including investigations and audits, affecting arrangements between Parkview Health and providers, including Federal and State regulatory questions, compliance issues and employment law matters. Serves as a resource on provider-related issues to areas across the health system, including the graduate medical education program, hospital entities, Human Resources and others.
Education: Must have a Bachelor's Degree and a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a license to practice law in Indiana and be in good standing.
Experience: Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in healthcare law or a related legal field. Significant experience in healthcare legal transactions and physician contracting, including fair market valuations, Anti-Kickback and Stark law implications. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present information effectively to senior leadership and physicians. Requires broad knowledge of contract law, legal transactional law and healthcare regulations related to physician practices, Provider compensation and fair market value, and requires strong business and financial acumen. Requires knowledge of and substantial experience with federal and state healthcare laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Affordable Care Act, False Claims Act, HIPAA, State medical record laws, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Experience with employment law, antitrust regulations, Accountable Care Organizations regulations, IRS rules for tax-exempt entities, corporate governance, business litigation and dispute resolution, and physician peer review laws is also helpful.
