Simulator Technician II -Fort Benning, Georgia

Assist in the performance of scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on the CCTT Platform following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklist in InSITE, or industry best practices when no checklist is available. Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE. Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location. Monitors hardware baselines, reverting to previous versions if updates fail
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Simulator Technician II Performs scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on the virtual groundAviation Flight Simulators, Aviation Maintenance Simulators, Gunnery-V, CCTT, and AVCATT simulation equipment following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available.
  • Coordinates with leads to ensure maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing.
  • Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE.
  • Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location.
  • Sets up and tests simulation equipment to confirm all components work as expected, including interoperability and operation verification.
  • Analyzes maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, manages obsolescence, implements risk management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability.
  • Installs modifications or upgrade kits as per manufacturer's instructions.
  • May also be responsible for installing and maintaining software and hardware installs and managing patches and security compliance for installed applications and operating systems.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Intermediate computer and networking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and On-Post driving privileges
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Experience utilizing test equipment to include torque wrenches, volt/micrometers, network cable crimping/testers and solder stations to support repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as necessary.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical adjustment, remove, and replace failed components, and make repairs on equipment.

Education:
(4 +Associates) or (2 + Bachelors) or (1+Masters) or or (6+No Degree)
Clearance:
Secret-Ability to obtain and Maintain within 6 months of hire date.
Certifications:
Basic Electronic Technical Certificate IAW ISO 17024 standards
Physical Demands:
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Bend, squat, climb, and reach.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.
  • May be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
