PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation industry innovator to hire skilled Flight Readiness Technicians in San Antonio, TX. If you have hands-on aircraft experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced flightline environment, this is your opportunity to play a critical role in preparing world-class aircraft for delivery and flight operations.

As a Flight Readiness Technician, you'll be on the front lines of aircraft production and delivery, performing final installations, operational testing, inspections, and flight readiness activities that directly impact safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Position Details
  • Job Title: Flight Readiness Technician

  • Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

  • Location: San Antonio, TX

  • Pay Rate Starting at : $37.63 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Must be flexible to work any shift, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as required.

  • 1st Shift: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (Priority Need)

  • 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM (Priority Need)

  • Training: Conducted on 1st or 2nd Shift

  • 4th Shift: Variable schedule

Every aircraft must be thoroughly tested, inspected, and validated before it leaves the production line. As a Flight Readiness Technician, you will help ensure aircraft systems operate as designed and are ready for successful flight operations and customer delivery.

Your work will directly support aircraft quality, reliability, and safety while contributing to one of the world's most advanced aerospace manufacturing environments.


What You'll DoAircraft Final Assembly & Testing
  • Perform final component installations on aircraft systems and assemblies.

  • Support systems operational and functional testing activities.

  • Conduct preflight and post-flight inspections and readiness checks.

  • Assist in delivery preparation activities to ensure aircraft meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Maintenance & Modification Support
  • Perform rework, maintenance, and aircraft modifications as required.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve non-conformance issues under supervision.

  • Document findings and corrective actions according to established procedures.

  • Follow detailed verbal and written instructions to complete assigned tasks.

Flightline Operations
  • Support aircraft operations in active flightline environments.

  • Inspect aircraft systems and equipment for quality and operational readiness.

  • Work closely with production, quality, engineering, and flight operations teams.

  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.


Required QualificationsBasic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, vocational training, Associate degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3 months of experience working with live aircraft systems and flight operations.

  • Ability to work any shift, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

  • Experience following detailed written and verbal work instructions.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required training certifications.

  • Ability to safely handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders and work stands.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly.

  • Ability to participate in team lifts for items exceeding 50 pounds when required.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, reach overhead, and work in physically demanding conditions.

  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception testing.

  • Ability to work in environments with frequent noise exposure while wearing required PPE.


Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License.

  • 3+ years of related aerospace, manufacturing, or fabrication experience.

  • 1+ year of 787 Program experience.

  • Experience supporting field operations or flightline operations.

  • Familiarity with Production System principles.

  • Aircraft maintenance, inspection, or systems testing experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
