Job description

FirstCarbon Solutions (FCS), an ADEC Innovation is seeking to hire an Payroll & HR Coordinator (CG02). This role will provide administrative and operational support across core human resources functions, including, employee records, benefits administration support, general HR compliance, and maintain and support the entire payroll lifecycle. This role helps ensure a smooth employee experience and effective HR service delivery. The role is offered as a hybrid or in‑office position based out of our Irvine location, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM PT.

Compensation: $23.50 – $27.25 Hourly

Duties and Responsibilities

  • HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation and assist with HRIS data entry and employee status changes.
  • Assist with coordinating employee benefits enrollment and manage leave of absence.
  • Employee Support: Serve as a point of contact for basic HR questions and requests and support employee communications and internal coordination.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Assist with policy documentation and routine HR compliance tasks and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Process full cycle multistate biweekly payroll for approximately 150 employees, including new hire setup, terminations and status changes, timekeeping review and audit, pay calculations and adjustments, direct deposit, deductions, garnishments, and federal and state tax withholdings.
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll records and accounts, including PTO and sick time accruals, manual checks, and standard payroll reports each payroll cycle.
  • Coordinate payroll activities related to benefits and retirement programs, including biweekly 401k contributions, COBRA continuation, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
  • Respond to employee and external inquiries regarding payroll deductions, accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications.

Education and Experience

  • 2 - 3 years of HR administrative or coordinator experience
  • Experience employee lifecycle and processing in ADP workforcenow
  • Basic knowledge of California HR laws and regulations, including overtime pay, exempt status, meal and break laws, etc.
