Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Epic Cadence & Prelude Consultant - Patient Access to lead transformation and optimization initiatives across patient access and patient engagement workflows. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Epic Prelude, Cadence, Referrals, MyChart, and Welcome modules, with strong experience in workflow optimization, healthcare operations, and patient experience improvement strategies.
This role will work closely with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, improve patient experience, optimize data flow across Epic applications, and support strategic healthcare initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead optimization initiatives across Epic Prelude, Cadence, Referrals, MyChart, and Welcome modules
  • Analyze, design, and improve end-to-end patient access workflows to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience
  • Ensure seamless workflow and data flow integration across patient access, patient experience, and ambulatory modules
  • Collaborate with cross-functional clinical, operational, and technical teams to gather requirements and implement scalable solutions
  • Support Epic implementation projects, upgrades, go-live activities, and post-production optimization efforts
  • Configure and optimize scheduling, registration, referrals, insurance verification, and patient engagement workflows
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflow diagrams, SOPs, and training materials
  • Leverage healthcare data and analytics to identify workflow gaps, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on Epic Patient Access best practices and operational optimization
  • Troubleshoot application issues and support ongoing system enhancements
  • Participate in testing activities including unit testing, integrated testing, and user acceptance testing
  • Support stakeholder communication and translate technical concepts into actionable business solutions

Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on Epic experience in healthcare environments
  • Strong expertise in the following Epic modules:
  • Epic Prelude
  • Epic Cadence
  • Epic Referrals
  • Epic MyChart
  • Epic Welcome
  • Epic Cadence and Prelude Certification required
  • Minimum one full Epic implementation experience
  • Strong understanding of workflow and data flow across patient access and ambulatory modules
  • Hands-on experience with patient scheduling, registration, referrals, insurance verification, and patient engagement workflows
  • Experience with workflow optimization and operational improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Experience working with healthcare data, reporting, and analytics
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in patient experience transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability and integrated healthcare workflows
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, operational teams, and technical stakeholders
  • Additional Epic certifications are a plus
