Job description

*Offering a $5,000 bonus!*
Location: Chesapeake, VA - Indian Creek Correctional Center
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours. Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 7:45 AM-4:45 PM with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. 9 Openings
Pay Rate: 52,000 ($25.00/hr.). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $58,000 ($27.88/hr.)
Indian Creek Correctional Center houses 1,060 male inmates and operates one of the largest Therapeutic Community Treatment Programs in the nation.

The Counselor is responsible for:
  • Serving as a role model and engineer of a social learning treatment milieu.
  • The provision of counseling services to include group programming and meetings, individual counseling, case management services, and clinical documentation.
  • Working closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
