Tidewater Youth Services Commission is looking to hire several part-time Community Based Counselors to provide non-clinical treatment services with at-risk youth and their families. You will receive all necessary training for our evidenced based treatment modalities/services.

Duties include:

  • Providing non-clinical counseling services with youth and their of families at their home or in the community.
  • Services to include, but not limited, to Anger Management/Aggression Replacement Training, Casey Life Skills, Individual or Family counseling sessions, Parenting Support, and Substance Abuse Education.
  • Travel in own vehicle required but mileage is reimbursed.
  • Flexible schedule required including after school, evenings and weekend hours that fit your schedule and the family's.
  • Work involves meeting with assigned youths and their families in their home.
  • Providing assistance; modeling behaviors; reinforcing positive actions.
  • Prepares records of client visits, progress, and case notes.
  • Responds to emergencies and crisis interventions as needed.
  • Establishes working relationships with families, court personnel, referral agencies, and other service providers.
