SUMMARY:

The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for leading revenue accounting, revenue-related close activities, financial controls, and reporting support for a complex, fast-growing media and analytics business. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead revenue accounting and revenue-related close activities for a complex, multi-channel media and analytics business with revenue across in-store media, CPG client solutions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure revenue is recorded accurately and in accordance with company revenue recognition policies, U.S. GAAP, and applicable revenue recognition guidance, including the evaluation of new and evolving products, pricing models, transaction structures, and partnership arrangements.
  • Own revenue recognition processes for commercial arrangements, including review of contract terms, performance obligations, transaction price considerations, timing of recognition, and related accounting conclusions.
  • Establish and maintain strong controls over revenue data flows, source-system inputs, reconciliations, allocations, cost of sales, accruals, and management reporting outputs.
  • Manage review of revenue-related reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of variances, accurate close deliverables, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Support period financial statement submissions to Kroger through revenue-related reporting, variance analysis, reconciliations, and business performance insights.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Sales, Client Leadership, Legal, Business Systems, Data teams, and Kroger, to ensure revenue recognition, cost of sales, close, and reporting processes are accurate and scalable.
  • Provide accounting guidance and operational support for new products, strategic partnerships, client arrangements, and evolving business models.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, data governance enhancements, and system changes to support increasing transaction volume, business complexity, and reporting needs.
  • Serve as a key revenue accounting leader in ERP, CRM, reporting, and finance system implementations or enhancements, including design, testing, controls, and change management activities.
  • Lead complex, ambiguous revenue accounting and finance initiatives independently, developing recommendations, influencing stakeholders, and driving issues to resolution.
  • Mentor, develop, and provide work direction to revenue accounting team members or related accounting resources while building scalable processes, clear ownership, and consistent execution

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of corporate accounting experience, with significant experience in revenue accounting, revenue recognition, revenue-related close activities, or technical accounting preferred.
  • Experience supporting complex revenue streams, preferably in media, advertising, retail media, data analytics, technology, CPG, or other fast-growing commercial environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams on revenue-related matters.
  • Experience improving revenue accounting processes through automation, system implementation, process redesign, data governance, or controls enhancement.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to execute detailed work independently and accurately, particularly with large quantities of data from multiple sources.
  • Experience with Dynamics, Salesforce, and reporting tools preferred.
  • Experience with new system implementations, transformation projects, or high-growth process scaling preferred.
