Job description

Litigation Support Specialist

ProSidian Consulting is looking for a RL Litigation Support Specialist (Part-Time) in located in The Hanford Tri-Cities Area (Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) to support an engagement for the US Dept. of Energy (DOE) Hanford in Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area. The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to provide General Support Services Contractor (GSSC) assistance to support DOE Hanford [which consists of Richland Operations Office (RL), and Office of River Protection (ORP)] in support of the Govt's operations, personnel management, and general administration of regional operations at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.

ProSidian Consulting's work includes supporting DOE requirements for consulting support, acquisition support, program/project management support, operational/administrative business support, and environmental consulting support. It is also ProSidian's duty to protect all classified information, special nuclear material, and other DOE property and work in accordance with DOE security regulations and requirements to maintain responsibility for protecting all classified information and all classified matter (including documents, material and special nuclear material) which are in every Engagement Team Member's possession and in connection with the performance of work under this contract against sabotage, espionage, loss or theft.

RL Support Candidates shall work to support requirements as a RL Litigation Support Specialist and provide RL Litigation Support and general support services to The US Department of Energy (DOE) Richland Operations Office (RL).

The RL Litigation Support Specialist shall provide support in the following areas:

  • Assist with DOE RL litigation, including update and maintenance of litigation case files; assist in discovery matters including locating, tracking, document control, and reviewing and tracking of outside counsel litigation invoices.
  • Update and maintain RL's input to DOE's Litigation Management Tracking System and draft any litigation reports; maintain DOE's Contractor litigation oversight files, correspondence, and pleadings in IDMS files.
  • Update and maintain a filing system for RL to support litigation. Assist DOE RL in moving information from their working computers into the filing system.
  • Operate office automation equipment.
  • Prepare various forms, documents, reports, and letters.
  • Provide information and analysis of information in a variety of spreadsheets, timelines, and other formats.
  • Conduct searches in IDMS.
  • Support input into DOE's Legal Management Tracking System.
  • Update and maintain litigation files in the filing system.
  • Update and maintain contractor litigation oversight files.
  • Transition hard copy files into filing system.
  • Prepare letters, reports, and emails in support of litigation support efforts.

Qualifications

The RL Litigation Support Specialist shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.

The RL Litigation Support Specialist shall possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 4-year degree in relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge of United States government rules and regulations regarding government records.
  • Knowledge of basic filing systems, including management of litigation files.
  • Full range of administrative support capabilities, including; Computer skills and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Software Suite | Ability to prepare and draft basic reports and compilations | Ability to compose routine legal documents or letters with appropriate accuracy, grammar, and punctuation while adhering to proper legal forms and formats.
  • Knowledge of basic legal terminology.
  • Ability to assist with discovery in government litigation, including complex document requests.
  • No conflict of interest with any current or former Hanford Site Prime (or Subcontract to the Prime) Contractors.
  • Knowledge of IDMS, preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship.

  • Business Tools โ€“ understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
