Job Description

J.S. Heldโ€™s Complex Accounting & Litigation team is seeking a seasoned and entrepreneurial Managing Director to support and expand our capabilities within the forensic accounting, litigation consulting and expert witness services. This is a senior role for a professional with deep experience in complex investigations and litigation.

As a Managing Director, you will help shape the strategic direction of the practice, lead high-impact engagements, mentor talent, and cultivate long-term client relationships across industries and geographies.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow junior team members on client work and business development.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on quality, innovation, and client service.
  • Assist in internal knowledge sharing, training, and professional development initiatives.

Client Engagement & Project Oversight

  • Able to oversee and execute engagements in a wide array of disciplines including complex, investigations involving regulatory inquiries, forensic accounting, litigation consulting and expert witness services.
  • Guide the development of client deliverables including reports, presentations, and data visualizations and testimony.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strategic insight.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Expand your book of business and contribute to the growth of the Complex Accounting & Litigation practice.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with law firms, regulators, financial institutions, and corporate clients.
  • Represent J.S. Held at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in relevant experience ranging from auditing, CFO, regulatory or standard setting, forensic accounting, litigation consulting, and expert witness services roles.
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent. 
  • Proven experience with a focus on executing on client delivery of high quality services and ability to work within and manage a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
  • Significant experience in the financial services and insurance industries.
  • Prior audit experience.
  • Additional relevant certifications including CFE, CFF, among others.

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during work shift

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $200,000 - $300,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
