Civil Litigation Associate

Salary + Quarterly Bonus | Cumming, Georgia

Tallant Howell Attorneys at Law is an established and growing law firm located in Cumming, Georgia. We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Associate with 3โ€“5 years of practice experience to join our team.


This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys litigation, wants meaningful responsibility and client interaction, and is looking for a long-term opportunity with a collaborative firm. Our associates work on substantive matters, have direct involvement in case strategy, and gain hands-on experience throughout every stage of litigation.


The associate's caseload will include a diverse mix of fiduciary litigation, property and real estate disputes, business and commercial litigation, and government litigation.


What You'll Do

  • Manage and assist with civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
  • Represent businesses, individuals, fiduciaries, property owners, and governmental clients in a variety of disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy in collaboration with the firm's attorneys.
  • Handle written discovery, document review, depositions, hearings, mediations, and other stages of litigation based on experience.
  • Work directly with clients and maintain clear, responsive communication throughout their matters.
  • Handle contract, business, fiduciary, and real property disputes.
  • Assist with litigation and other matters involving local government clients.
  • Manage deadlines, case files, and competing priorities with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to provide practical, effective representation to our clients.


What We're Looking For

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
  • 3โ€“5 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Experience drafting substantive pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
  • Ability to independently manage assignments and take ownership of matters.
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize matters and meet deadlines.
  • A self-starter who is responsive, dependable, and motivated to move cases forward.
  • Experience with Clio, Lexis+, e-file systems and Microsoft Office preferred.
