Job Title: Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense Litigation Location: Columbus, OH Company Overview:

We provide high-quality legal services to our clients, including insurance companies, businesses, and individuals. Our firm is committed to professional excellence, client satisfaction, and providing opportunities for growth and development to our team members.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated attorney to join our insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, but we will also consider candidates with strong research, writing, advocacy, and case-management skills who are eager to develop in this practice area.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage insurance defense matters from intake through resolution, including case evaluation, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist senior attorneys in case strategy development and implementation.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and professional conduct.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing
  • Active Ohio bar admission, or eligibility for prompt admission, preferred.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Three or more years of litigation experience preferred, but not required; insurance defense experience is a plus.
