Job description

Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Birmingham, AL.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience to join a dynamic, full-service litigation practice. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and complex litigation matters while receiving substantial client contact, meaningful responsibility, and partnership-track opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in commercial, regulatory, and complex litigation matters.

  • Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation filings.

  • Manage all phases of discovery in complex litigation, including written discovery, document production, and depositions.

  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.

  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

  • Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.

  • Manage multiple litigation matters while collaborating with attorneys across the practice.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active membership in the Alabama Bar.

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience.

  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedure and experience managing complex discovery.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.

  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and client service skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work in-office in Birmingham, AL.
