MANTECH seeks a motivated, mission-focused Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will help maintain and enhance the Sponsor’s Linux environment alongside a talented team. You will be responsible for the operating system software and its seamless integration with hardware and applications across the organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, testing, installing, integrating, and maintaining new and upgraded versions of the relevant operating systems
  • Building and hardening Linux servers, and establishing configuration baselines while applying all appropriate security and firmware patches in a timely manner
  • Developing test plans/procedures, managing operating system lifecycles, and designing interfaces to external systems
  • Researching, troubleshooting, and resolving operating system problems efficiently by collaborating with application development and network teams
  • Maintaining and updating complex documentation on the operating system configuration and all other areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively and proactively across a large organization of dispersed teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of progressively responsible experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers in a large, complex server environment
  • Experience working in an organization with complex, intertwined systems, data flows, and applying security patches in a Linux environment
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentation
  • Experience with domain account management, particularly via Centrify, LDAP, and Active Directory
  • Experience with shell scripting to automate administrative tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience scripting with Ansible or similar technologies
  • Experience with the Sponsor’s primary automation and configuration management tools
  • Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams and drive change throughout an organization

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
