Systems Administrator III (Linux)

Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

Join the Systems Administration team to manage, modernize, and continuously improve enterprise Linux infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments at Moneris.

You willoperatea large-scale Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7/8/9/10 estate spanning thousands of virtual machines across VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, and Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Working with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Information Security, Cloud Operations, Infrastructure Architecture, and Application teams, you will scale reusable automation in Red Hat Ansible, Python, Bash, and GitHub, and mature service ownership through documentation, standards, and observability. Your work directly strengthens Moneris' Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) posture, resilience, and delivery velocity for merchant-critical services.

Location:You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Salary Range:The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $113,000

Your Moneris Career - Whatyou'lldo

  • Manage and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7/8/9/10 across development, test, production, and mission-critical environments.

  • Operate service requests, incidents, changes, and problems through ServiceNow aligned to enterprise ITIL processes.

  • Maintain platform currency via patching, in-place upgrades, migrations, remediation, and standards-based lifecycle management.

  • Build reusable automation with Red Hat Ansible, Bash, Python, and GitHub to scale consistent, secure operations.

  • Support hybrid infrastructure across VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, and Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as aService (IaaS) virtual machines.

  • Contribute to capacity planning, availability planning, service reporting, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring.

  • Mature service ownership by producing technical documentation,buildstandards, diagrams, automation playbooks, and knowledge base articles.

  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule supporting 24/7 critical and production systems.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role within a large, complex enterprise environment.

  • Significant hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7/8/9/10 on x86_64 at scale (thousands of virtual machines) across development, test, and mission-critical production.

  • Hands-on automation with Red Hat Ansible, Bash, Python, and GitHub to build reusable,standards-based operations.

  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console, in-place RHEL upgrades, and Active Directory integration via System Security Services Daemon (sssd) and Kerberoskeytabs.

  • Virtualization experience with VMware vSphere and/or Nutanix AHV, plus Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as aService (IaaS) virtual machines.

  • Use of ServiceNow and enterprise ITIL processes for incidents, changes, problems, and requests.

  • Solid understanding of IPv4 fundamentals, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management, and least-privilege security models.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Paymentsindustry or Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) experience, including familiarity with Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines.

  • Experience with CyberArk Privileged Access Security (PAS/pCloud), CyberArkConjurSecrets Management, and Venafi.

  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint / Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Azure Arc / Connected Machine Agent,OpenSCAP, andFortraTripwire.

  • Exposure to container-based infrastructure and DevOps pipelines, plus tools such asGlusterFS/FUSE, NFS, Postfix,CheckMK, and Dynatrace.

Working Conditions

  • Rotational on-call schedule to support 24/7 critical and production systems.
