The DT organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe are able to communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. The Principal System Administrators collaborate across the business to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems. What You Will Do : * Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment, with a strong focus on RHEL systems management and lifecycle support.
* Experience with Linux fundamentals, including system, SELinux, networking, DNS, DHCP, and integration with Active Directory for authentication. Support interoperability between Linux and Windows systems using established identity management tools.
* Work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, air-gapped, classified environment. Use advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to complex technical issues involving operating systems, virtualized workloads, and hardware integration.
* Support Linux provisioning and configuration tasks including kickstart deployments, automated configuration using Ansible, package management, and container workloads using Podman. Assist with patching processes in a closed network environment where updates are manually introduced.
* Perform routine backup, restore, and RAID-related tasks as needed.
* Install and configure software packages requested by end users, ensuring systems remain compliant with cybersecurity requirements. Partner closely with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain required security posture, support RMF/NISPOM/JSIG-aligned processes, and deliver documentation, guidance, and training on advanced IT procedures.
* Develop solutions and technical documentation for a wide variety of Linux and Windows issues.
* Systems operate 24x7 and may require occasional work outside standard hours.
* Position requires up to 5% travel and is a full-time onsite role. Qualifications You Must Have: * Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
* Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
* Linux experience and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
* Experience in one or more of the following areas: Active Directory administration, VMware virtualization, database, or network administration.
* Must be able to obtain DoD 8140/8570 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start. Qualifications We Prefer: * Experience supporting Windows systems in an enterprise environment.
* VMware experience, including vCenter, ESXi, and virtual machine lifecycle management.
* Active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph or prior SCI/program eligibility.
* Current DoD 8140/8570 certifications, including Security+ CE or equivalent OS-level certifications.
* Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, or Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
* Experience with Red Hat ecosystem tools such as Ansible, Podman, SELinux, kickstart provisioning, and Linux automation.
* Experience administering Windows Server technologies including WSUS or Exchange in a classified environment.
* Experience with data storage concepts, including SAN/NAS solutions and NFS implementations.
* Experience with containerization and early-stage adoption of Kubernetes or Rancher.
* Experience supporting engineers working with software development, simulations, or hardware development workflows.
* Experience scripting in Bash, Ansible, or PowerShell for automation and tooling.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
