Required Qualifications:

  • Be able to read, write, work with numbers, and understand instructions and communicate in English
  • Understanding of elementary math
  • A valid driver license is a requirement and a clean driving record for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform job duties and on the job training
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operation including, but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to perform daily operations using basic units including, but not limited to cups, pints, quarts, inches, feet, yards, ounces, and pounds.
  • Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition
  • Distributes laundered articles and linens
  • May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Report all injuries to your supervisor and submit a Quantros report immediately following injury

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

  • Constant standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving when performing job
  • Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and maneuver items weighing much more with proper technique and equipment
  • Works in laundry and assigned areas of the facility according to a schedule
  • Subject to frequent interruptions
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours & schedule when necessary
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs
  • Works with various soaps, bleach, and other chemicals. Maybe subject to falls, burns and unpleasant odors.
  • Required to wear masks, gowns, gloves, shoe covers, and all Personal Protective Equipment required for completing job
  • May be exposed to Infectious Diseases, Blood and Body substances, and contaminated linens
  • Verbally communicates with Nursing Personnel, Patients, and other Hospital Personnel
