Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
The Dashboard Product team is committed to providing world-class user experiences for Stripe merchants. We focus on perfecting the Dashboard Stripe's main interface for merchants - by infusing meticulous attention to detail and craft. We take immense pride in our work and deeply care about the quality of the products we deliver. We're dedicated to building a team with an acute focus on detail, nurturing a level of craftsmanship that makes us proud to share our work with the world.
We serve two core user groups. First, is real merchants using the Dashboard. We own the most critical, first-touch surfaces, such as the homepage, which we drive to set the benchmark for intuitive, reliable software. This work directly informs our second set of users, internal product teams. We distill our front-line insights into shared components and paradigms, empowering the entire organization to build a consistent, holistic Dashboard experience.
We're a mentorship-forward team where staff engineers work directly alongside early-career engineers to raise the quality bar across everything we ship. We're also actively exploring how AI agents can unlock new creative possibilities for how merchants interact with their products, and we're excited to bring that same spirit of invention to the frontend craft.
What you'll do
As a Frontend Engineer on the Dashboard Product team, you'll collaborate with skilled designers and engineers to drive UX excellence in the Stripe Dashboard. You'll craft experiences that simplify complex tasks for merchants, ensuring high performance, seamless information architecture, and intuitive discoverability. You'll work on inventing new paradigms and elevating existing ones, with an eye toward broader use cases on the Dashboard. Working closely with designers and cross-functional groups, you'll craft experiences that help merchants understand their business and execute essential tasks with surprising levels of ease and delight.
You'll also mentor early-career engineers to raise our collective quality bar, all while exploring how emerging AI agents can unlock new, creative ways for merchants to interact with their business.
Responsibilities
  • Own the frontend quality, consistency, and visual craft of the Stripe Dashboard's highest-traffic pages, with particular focus on core logged-in surfaces
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve consistency, performance, and polish across the Dashboard
  • Partner closely with Design and Product,, serving as the technical voice on frontend feasibility, quality standards, and implementation approach
  • Contribute to and advocate for the Stripe design system, ensuring components and patterns work well across the Dashboard and other product surfaces
  • Establish frontend quality standards for the team, including patterns, code review practices, and implementation guidance for junior engineers
  • Prototype and explore AI-powered experiences that change how merchants discover and interact with Stripe products
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on integration points while keeping frontend craft as your core focus
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
  • This is a Staff-level role - that typically means 10+ years of experience building and shipping complex, user-facing web applications at large scale
  • Deep expertise in modern frontend development, with strong opinions on UI quality and the ability to execute to a high level of visual precision
  • Track record of driving measurable improvements to UI consistency and polish across large, distributed products
