As a Creative Concept Artist & Illustrator, you will collaborate on live entertainment concepts with the art of visual storytelling via Illustration, fine art, and graphic design. This dynamic art team has helped create some of the most spectacular visual storytelling for some of the world's greatest Characters and the worlds they live in.

This is a Casual Temporary with no guarantee of weeklyworking hours, as hours will fluctuate based on business needs.

This role will report to the Manager-Art Studio

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate excellent visual storytelling skills using several visual methods - quick sketch, storyboards, mood boards, environments, character sketches, full illustration, and fine art digital painting

  • Work independently on assigned projects requiring minimal direction

  • Collaborate and interact with internal partners such as Art Directors, Show Directors, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Marketing

  • Support design efforts for non-entertainment partners from different lines of business across The Walt Disney Company

  • Build and develop relationships with clients, vendors, and other supporting departments

  • Work on all levels of projects from intimate to spectacular in scale

  • Give feedback on the labor required to complete a project

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry working in show development and operation of live shows drafting ground plans, detail drawings, schematics, 3D images, etc

  • Outstanding ability and skill in hand drawing and sketching

  • Excellent command of a variety of art styles, from line art to full illustration

  • Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Outstanding knowledge of Disney characters, ensuring that all character artwork is on-model and brand-appropriate

  • Proven dedication to staying current with industry trends

  • Willingness to work flexible hours - nights, weekends, holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Modeling experience in 3D design tools

  • Proven experience in animation and character design

  • Proficiency in other languages is a plus

Education

  • College degree or equivalent previous experience in the technical aspects of Theater Arts, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or Graphic Arts, with focus on live show entertainment

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $49,800.00-$66,720.00 per year based on a 24 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered
