Job description

Koniag Integration Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Technical Illustrator to support KINS and our government customer. This position is in office. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a SECRET Level Clearance.

Job Summary:  The Technical Illustrator will complete develop technical illustration and graphic materials for Air Force Programs. 

 

Essential Functions include but are not limited to: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.)

  • Follow established quality standards for TO deliverables and ensure that a plan is followed to meet overall program objectives as defined by the Project Lead. 
    • Work collaboratively with company and Government personnel in person to meet all requirements of the Performance Work Statement.
    • Understand MIL SPECs to follow Air Force standards and practice in creating drawings that are acceptable to the government.
    • Generate technical illustrations in accordance with governing specifications and/or industry standards.
    • Must be able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings for conversion into TO compatible line drawings.
    • Responsible for generating technical illustrations and graphic presentations in compliance with program standards and requirements published by the company.
    • Perform conversions of halftones (photographs) into line drawings and prepare exploded views of equipment to be used in parts breakdowns and for disassembly/assembly instructions.
    • Perform photo editing using graphics software such as, Corel PHOTO-PAINT, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator software, et al.
    • Enhance photos for use in publications.
    • Complete assigned work with limited direction, review and guidance from experienced peers.
    • Apply nomenclature to illustrations and schematics in compliance with government specifications for various publications.  
    • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Technical Training or Associates Degree in Graphic Design

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication, leadership, technical editing, and publishing software skills.
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years work experience.
    • Demonstrate Technical Illustration skills.
    • Ability to interpret technical / engineering drawings for transformation to line art.
    • Strong working knowledge of a variety of graphics software programs including CorelDRAW 2017, Adobe Illustrator CS6, Corel Photo Paint X3, Lattice 3D Studio, Canvas X, Arbortext ISO Draw 7.3 or higher, CREO View 5.1 , and Solid Work Composer.
    • Ability to interpret technical orthographic engineering drawings for transformation to line art.
    • Ability to render isometric illustrations to support assembly views for various publications from source 3D engineering files.
    • Basic photo-editing and enhancing skills using Corel PHOTO PAINT and Adobe Photoshop software.
    • Working knowledge of Digital SLR Camera to take photos for art development and as final art in TM’s.
    • Ability to “multi-task” and adjust to changing situations with minimal interruption in work.
    • Demonstrated work experience with publishing or graphics software used on this project and a publishing standard/process.
    • Ability to adapt to changes in program schedules and illustration priorities which may require working with different software and program directives.
    • Proven flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic working environment and ability to coordinate with multiple individuals concurrently to expedite progress.
    • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to pass U.S. Government Background Screening required to obtain and maintain clearance.
    • Dependable attendance.
    • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person status.
