Job description

Description

Quality & Compliance Specialist

Lin Engineering | Morgan Hill, CA | Full-Time | On-Site

________________________________________

For over 30 years, Lin Engineering has designed and manufactured precision motion control products - stepper motors, BLDC motors, linear actuators, and more - used in aerospace, robotics, life sciences, and autonomous vehicles. We're a California manufacturer with global reach, and quality isn't a department here - it's a core value.

We're looking for a Quality & Compliance Specialist who owns it.

________________________________________

What You'll Do

You'll be embedded in our quality operations - conducting internal audits, driving CAPA from root cause to closure, and investigating non-conformances and customer complaints. You'll manage environmental and regulatory compliance programs, collaborate directly with suppliers and customers on declaration of compliance activities, and partner with engineering, production, and supply chain to keep our products and processes at standard. You'll also support process improvement initiatives, maintain quality documentation, and train team members on standards and inspection techniques.

This role spends the majority of time in an office environment with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor - PPE required when on the floor. Occasional flexibility may be needed to support audits or production schedules, and minimal travel may be required for supplier audits or off-site training.

________________________________________

What We Offer

Salary: $71,845 - $94,843 annually, commensurate with experience

Medical, dental, vision - effective first of the month after hire

401(k) with company match

PTO + 10 paid holidays

A stable, tenured team that takes quality seriously

________________________________________

This position is based on-site in Morgan Hill, CA. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available for this role.

What We Need

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field - equivalent hands-on experience will be considered

2+ years in quality assurance, supplier quality, or manufacturing quality within a regulated industry

Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent QMS standards - audit participation or ownership required, not just familiarity

Direct experience managing environmental regulatory compliance programs including REACH, RoHS, Proposition 65, PFAS, and/or POP - supplier declaration of compliance experience is required. This is a hard requirement.

Proven CAPA ownership: you've led root cause investigations using 5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone/Ishikawa, or Six Sigma methodologies and can speak to outcomes

Hands-on experience with quality tools including FMEA, SPC, and PPAP

Proficiency in ERP systems, quality management software, and analytical tools (Minitab, JMP, or Excel)

Effective cross-functional communicator - comfortable holding the line on quality standards with engineering, production, supply chain, and external stakeholders

Preferred

CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification

AS9100 experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated manufacturing

Demonstrated ability to adapt quality strategies across low-to-mid and high-volume production environments
