Job description

What to Expect

Tesla is a global leader in innovation, driving advancements in autonomous vehicles and humanoid robotics. Our state-of-the-art AI platform powers some of the most sophisticated systems in the world, including Autopilot and our next generation humanoid robot, Optimus.

As an Integration Engineer on the Autonomy team, you'll be working at the intersection of AI, robotics, and systems integration, bringing Tesla's cutting-edge technology to life across both vehicle and robotic platforms. This role blends software development, system level problem solving, and cross functional collaboration to ensure seamless performance across our full autonomy stack. You'll work closely with teams spanning hardware, AI, controls, and safety to develop and implement features that push the boundaries of what's possible in autonomous systems.

Your work will also play a vital role in defining and validating safety and reliability specifications for driverless operation. This includes designing fault tolerant mechanisms and building redundant system architectures to mitigate risks and maximize uptime. From early stage prototyping to production deployment, you'll contribute to the development of core features and infrastructure that power autonomy in both Tesla vehicles and robots.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of mobility and intelligent robotics through hands-on engineering at the leading edge of AI and automation.

What You'll Do
  • Write, debug, and maintain robust C/C++ software for the Autopilot and humanoid robot software stack
  • Own end-to-end integration of Autopilot features across software, user interfaces, and vehicle hardware systems
  • Drive feature development through simulation, validation, and fleet-driven feedback loops
  • Optimize system-level behavior to maximize feature effectiveness while minimizing power and resource usage
  • Provide performance data and constructive feedback to hardware design and manufacturing teams to continuously improve processes and system capabilities
  • Bring up Autonomy features on new vehicle and compute platforms
What You'll Bring
  • Experience developing in C/C++, including modern standards (C++14/17/20), multithreading, and Python; familiarity with CUDA or OpenCL is a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems architecture and real time software design principles
  • Working knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and their practical applications in real world systems
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
  • Proficient in Linux based software development, with additional experience in embedded Linux environments and cross compilation toolchains considered a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across teams
