SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Resource Navigator is responsible for assuring that the day-by-day

engagement with clients in person and by phone are conducted in a professional and courteous manner. The

incumbent is responsible as well for assuring that the daily operations involving accurate completion of the

assigned tasks are performed in a timely manner. The incumbent will show respect and a teamwork spirit when

collaborating with peers and superiors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or GED is required. Experience with Credible, behavioral health,

customer service or receptionist duties is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Answers incoming calls and routes them to the appropriate sites, for the existing clients.

 Identifying client’s chief complaint/reason for visit/call

 Assists clients with questions such as hours of operation, the time of next appointment, provider’s

name, etc., for the existing clients.

 Reschedules appointments with requested department/program and hours of operation for the

existing clients.

 Offers resources and information regarding Programs and services offered through First Step of

Sarasota

 Offers information regarding community resources and how client can access them.

 Offers immediate verbal support to clients in crisis before connecting them with the appropriate

staff member/department/program.

 Performs a brief assessment of client’s current mental status and needs for prospective clients for

better determination on the connection with the appropriate program.

 Connects the client with a Peer Support Specialist, Case Manager, Outpatient Therapist, based on

the determined need of such services.

 Collects minimum of information from prospective clients and documenting it in the system.

 Encouraging clients to engage in the offered services.

Optimizes client satisfaction, provider time and treatment room utilization by scheduling

appointments in person or by telephone.

 Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential; following

established confidentiality policy and procedures; maintaining professional boundaries with clients.

 Maintains inter-and intradepartmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.

 Other duties as assigned by direct Supervisor.
