Job description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of Lightshare facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for clients and staff. This role supports all program locations, including residential, outpatient, and administrative sites, by addressing work orders, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and assisting with facility improvements.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and experienced in general maintenance with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
  • Address work orders related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and implement timely solutions
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely and effectively

Preventative Maintenance

  • Assist in executing preventative maintenance schedules
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential issues
  • Perform routine servicing of equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns

Facility Upkeep

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of building exteriors and interiors
  • Assist with painting, drywall repair, minor renovations, and improvements
  • Ensure grounds are maintained, including basic landscaping as needed

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
  • Identify and report safety hazards immediately
  • Support compliance with state, local, and CARF standards
  • Assist with fire safety checks and emergency readiness tasks

Work Order & Documentation

  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Document completed work and track maintenance activities
  • Communicate status updates to supervisor and relevant staff

Support & Collaboration

  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with larger projects
  • Work collaboratively with program staff to minimize disruption to services
  • Support vendor coordination when needed
