Essential Job Functions:

Project Management & Execution

  • Serve as Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, leading siting, routing, and environmental permitting projects
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Lead preparation of land use and resource permit applications for federal, state, and local agencies
  • Support project development activities, including technical analysis, permitting strategy, and financial considerations
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols

Business Development

  • Support and lead RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities through client engagement and professional networks
  • Develop proposal strategies, scopes, and cost estimates to secure new work
  • Maintain a high level of industry knowledge and professional development

Leadership

  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level project managers and planners
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on client service and safety
  • Support growth and development of the energy practice
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Capabilities & Credentials

  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related technical field
  • 8-15+ years of experience in environmental permitting and energy project development
  • Experience with:
    • Siting and routing evaluations
    • Environmental permitting and regulatory processes
    • Technical studies and permit applications
  • Experience managing and/or authoring:
    • CEQA (EIRs/MNDs)
    • NEPA documentation
    • California Energy Commission (CEC) and/or CPUC applications
  • Prior environmental consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with GIS and siting-related software
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project and ArcGIS preferred)

Work Environment / Travel:

  • Remote-based role within California with affiliation to the Irvine office
  • Travel required for project work, client meetings, and team collaboration

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $130,000-$180,000 annually
