Position Summary

  • The Electrical Engineer III will work as part of the Engineering team to perform engineering design, calculations, and support for the company. This individual will take a lead design role on the team.
    This position will provide senior engineering technical expertise to the company. The use of SKM for short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and Neher-McGrath heat calculation studies will be a primary role for this position. This person will also take part in design, construction, and maintenance requirements of electrical systems. This position will include responsibilities to design normal power, emergency power, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, and various low voltage electrical systems. They will take part in the creation of project specifications. The position will require familiarity with building codes. The individual will help provide engineering support to various departments within the company. Project site visits and coordination with clients will be expected. This person will also have opportunities to be involved with engineering marketing and business development.

    Work Experience

    Required:

    • 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry
    • Must have experience with SKM software (or similar) and be willing to continue to work within these programs.
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

    Preferred:

    • Data Center and health care experience preferred.


    Education:

    Preferred:

    • BAS in Engineering from ABET accredited University
    • Professional Engineering certification (or ability to acquire)


    Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
    • Excellent computer proficiency
