Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Material Handlers provide general labor support to production and pack on demand lines or other areas by assembling trays, lids, feed tapers, palletizing and configuring gift orders for expedited processing of customer orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBIILITIES:
  • Build pallets according to storage specifications ensuring pallet pattern meets all requirements.
  • Ensure quality assurance and vendor compliance specifications are met.
  • Physically stack and unstack pallets
  • Support the shipping line with a constant flow of product or removal
  • Read SKU numbers and sort product by size/SKU of box to prepare it for loading
  • Perform other duties and works in other departments as assigned
  • Adhere to all SQF (Safe Quality Foods) guidelines
  • Maintain reasonable and reliable attendance

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Some high school education required
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels (peers, leadership & employees).
  • Basic reading (English) skills.

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK EFFORT
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks (walking, bending, twisting and use of hands, wrists and arms).
  • Perform general housekeeping (breakdown boxes, remove trash, sweep etc.)
  • Light assembly.
  • Limited lifting.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Some high school education required
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels (peers, leadership & employees).
  • Basic reading (English) skills.
