Job description

As a Distribution Center Lift Operator, you may be assigned to different positions within the distribution center as needed. Before starting work in any assigned position, you will be provided with the standard operating procedure (SOP) specific to that position. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with and follow the SOP while working in your assigned position. This ensures consistency, efficiency, and safety in performing your duties. Following the SOP helps maintain high standards and contributes to the overall success of the distribution center.
Primary Job Functions
Distribution Center Lift Operators load or unload product from trailers/containers and transport finished goods between production/distribution Center locations and loading/unloading areas. Essential responsibilities of this job may include:
  1. Perform safety check of powered industrial vehicle prior to operation
  2. Operate powered industrial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
  3. Use scanning equipment to locate product in Distribution Center and ensure accurate inventory
  4. Pick orders and stage for shipment following the scan move scan
  5. Manipulate products safely and effectively using proper SOP
  6. Inform supervisor of needed backorders of product, scanning problems or product out of sequence
  7. Inform supervisor of damaged and misplaced products
  8. Perform a trailer audit (verify trailer number, cleanliness, condition) prior to loading and inform supervisor of any deficiencies. (receiving)
  9. Perform the job satisfactorily at a sustained level of productivity (Piece per hour 20)
  10. Follow all OSHA and Company established safety rules and procedures
  11. Follow all standard operating procedures while working at assigned positions
  12. Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in performance of all job functions

  1. Must comply with attendance policies and procedures
  2. Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.

Job Qualifications
Education:
  • High School, Diploma or equivalent

Experience:
  • 1-year related work experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Obtain valid, company issued powered industrial vehicle license specific to various areas within the department
  • Self-directed, reliable and punctual
