Lift Truck Operator

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is seeking Lift Truck Operators for 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 4:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.) to safely move and transport products to and from inventory locations while maintaining product quality and preventing damage or safety hazards.

Position Objective:

To move and transportproductsto and from inventory locations, whilemaintainingthequalityof the product, without causing harm, danger, or damage.

Essential Functions:

Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safetyknowledgeand responsibility:

  • To retrieveproductfrom inventory bins and transport them toproperlocation as instructed by onboard computer or Management Personnel.

  • Place unwrappedproducton the wrapping station as needed.

  • Raise or lower dock leveler as needed.

  • Use orange cone system for full or empty trailers

  • Use Lift Truck to transport palletized freight as needed.

  • Have the Lift Truck battery changed asneeded.

  • Must hand load trailers when requested by Management Personnel.

  • Ensure proper product packaging is complete beforeplacinginproperlocation.

  • Must adhere to normal work schedule, starting and stopping times andcompany attendance/tardiness policy.

  • Must be able to work necessary overtime

Non-Essential Duties:

Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safetyknowledgeand responsibility:

  • Assistin other jobs and duties as needed.

  • Perform any duties you are OJT certified to do.

  • Helping tokeep the work area clean.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit on a Lift Truck forlong periodsof time.

  • Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck 80 to 90 times per shift.

  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.

  • Must be able to physically handle up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift.

  • Must be able to handle rough backing and latex-based products


Knowledge/Skills:

  • Mustbe able to read and write numbers.

  • Mustbe able to communicate clearly.

  • Must have general computer knowledge.

  • Mustbe able to write legibly.

  • Mustbe able to perform simple mathematics.

  • Must be able to use On Board Computer.

Safety/Training Requirements:

  • Must completerequiredSMS training.

  • Must adhere to all corporate and facility safety rules includinguseof proper PPE for specific job tasks.
