Overview
As a Lift Operator you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of lift operations at the resort. This position involves operating ski lifts, assisting guests, maintaining equipment, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is attentive, safety-conscious, and enjoys working in an outdoor environment.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):
  • Promoting and exemplify Boyne Resorts L.E.A.D.S. core values. Contributing to creating and maintaining a culture of positivity, productivity, and professionalism.
  • Lift Operation: Operating ski lifts and other conveyance systems, ensuring the smooth and safe transport of guests. Keeping chairs, corral and terminal areas clean and orderly. Performing snow maintenance on ramps, terminal areas, corral and other areas as needed.
  • Guest Assistance: Displaying Attitude is Everything by helping guests load and unload from lifts, providing instructions for safe riding, and offering general assistance as needed.
  • Safety Monitoring: Ensuring Excellence in Execution by assisting with daily lift inspections. Observing and enforcing safety protocols, including checking lift tickets, ensuring appropriate usage of safety bars, and managing lift lines.
  • Communication: Maintaining clear and professional communication with guests and other team members, including the lift operations team and ski patrol.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Utilizing Long-Term Thinking by conducting regular inspections, reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
  • Weather Monitoring: Staying informed about current weather conditions, adjusting lift operations accordingly.
  • Emergency Response: Acting quickly and effectively in case of an emergency, following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Customer Service: Providing exceptional customer service, offering information about the resort, answering guest questions, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Serve First and Develop Great People by working closely with other lift operators, ski patrol, and mountain operations staff to ensure smooth operations across the resort.
Qualifications
This position may be for you if:
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • Achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • You are available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • You enjoy working outside in various weather conditions
  • You would enjoy a customer service position helping and interacting with guests
