Job description

You'll help with complex tax planning and compliance for a sophisticated client base, and you'll help structure, market, and manage alternative-asset investments across multiple industries, with film and entertainment as the flagship focus, to our thousands of network partners.

What You'll Do

Tax strategy & management

  • Assist in leading tax planning, projection, and compliance for high-income individuals, businesses, trusts, and funds.
  • Run and stress-test tax-advantaged investment structures, including film and entertainment and private aviation industries. This is not exclusively tax considerations, but operations in running the businesses that make these strategies successful.
  • Review returns and supervise tax staff, ensuring technical accuracy and consistency with deal structures.

Fund & investment management

  • Help structure, launch, and administer alternative-asset offerings — film equity and production financing first, with selective expansion into other industries.
  • Build and refine financial models for fund economics, waterfalls, leverage, and investor returns (deduction-to-cash ratios, presale and tax-credit collateral, minimum-guarantee structures).
  • Manage the investment lifecycle: capital calls, allocations, distributions, investor reporting, and compliance.
  • Partner with the Owner on deal sourcing, due diligence, and structuring across the portfolio.

Sales & client development

  • Identify investment opportunities within the existing tax client base, using your understanding of each client's income profile, accreditation status, and planning needs to make warm, well-matched introductions.
  • Present offerings to new introductions of accredited investors and referral partners with clarity and conviction, balancing the upside story against honest risk and suitability discussion.
  • Build durable relationships that span both the tax and investment sides of the relationship, deepening client lifetime value.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, with referral partners, and across the entertainment and finance communities.
  • Travel to movie sets when needed and act as a representative to engage client relationships.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • CPA, EA, JD/LLM in taxation, or equivalent experience leading complex tax engagements.
  • 5+ years in tax with high exposure to pass-through entities and high-networth individuals.
  • Genuine commercial instinct — you enjoy the business-development side and can sell without overselling.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills (Excel) and the ability to communicate numbers to non-technical audiences.
