Job description

Job Summary: 

The Network Analyst is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of enterprise network and communications infrastructure supporting Vail Ski Resort, Beaver Creek Ski Resort, Vail Resorts Retail and EME locations throughout Eagle County, Colorado. This role provides support for outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber and copper infrastructure, large-scale wireless deployments, core network systems, telephony services, and related technologies across mountain operations, resort base areas, hospitality facilities, and retail environments

Responsibilities include managing and supporting Extreme Networks switching infrastructure, Aruba and Cambium wireless networks, Aruba Mobility Controllers, Avaya telephony systems, Clearpass Policy Manager, Cato Networks SD-WAN and Zebra Wireless Technologies. The Network Analyst leads small-to-medium infrastructure projects and serves as a technical resource on larger resort, construction, and technology initiatives. The role collaborates with business stakeholders, other IT teams, and third-party vendors to support project planning, implementation, and operational readiness while ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing technology services.

Supporting a geographically dispersed environment with year-round operational demands, this position proactively identifies issues, implements solutions, and drives infrastructure improvements across multiple business units and locations. The Network Analyst is expected to continuously evaluate network and communications systems for opportunities to improve reliability, performance, security, scalability, supportability, and operational efficiency. The role plays a critical part in advancing the technology infrastructure that supports guest services, mountain operations, hospitality venues, retail locations, and administrative functions throughout one of Vail Resorts' premier mountain regions.

Job Responsibilities:

   Be Safe:

  • Provide exceptional guest service supporting users and collaborating with coworkers, ensuring the Experience of a Lifetime.
  • Act as an escalation point for network and communications-related issues.

   Drive Value for the Company: 

  • Support and maintain enterprise network, wireless, telecommunications, and infrastructure systems across Breckenridge Ski Resort, Keystone Resort, Vail Resorts Retail and EME locations throughout Summit County.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Extreme Networks switching infrastructure, Aruba and Cambium wireless networks, Avaya telephony systems, Clearpass Policy Manager, Cato Networks SD-WAN and Zebra Wireless Technologies.
  • Support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber optic and copper infrastructure, including cabling, patching, testing, terminations, and repairs.
  • Monitor network performance, investigate outages and service disruptions, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution efforts with internal teams and vendors.
  • Lead small-to-medium network and infrastructure projects, including technology upgrades, equipment replacements, service deployments, and site improvements. Contribute technical expertise to larger resorts, facilities, and construction projects while coordinating with internal stakeholders, project teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to support infrastructure implementation, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Ensure network and communications systems comply with company security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by identifying opportunities to enhance network, wireless, telecommunications, and infrastructure systems through optimization, standardization, automation, lifecycle management, and adoption of industry best practices.
  • Participate in on-call support, major incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain highly available business-critical systems.

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods in temperatures below freezing and at altitude.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (with assistance if needed).
  • Ability to work a schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and occasional after-hours support.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level, or willingness to learn.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extreme Certified Professional in Extreme Fabric, Network+ and/or CCNA certification, or equivalent routing and switching knowledge.
  • CWTS, CWNA, Aruba, or equivalent wireless certification and/or experience.
  • Experience supporting Extreme Networks switching infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting Aruba wireless infrastructure and Mobility Controllers.
  • Experience supporting Cambium wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting Avaya telephony, voicemail, and call center platforms.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure in a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with network monitoring, network security, NAC solutions, and telecommunications systems.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed enterprise environments across multiple facilities and operational locations.
  • Experience supporting technology infrastructure in resort, hospitality, retail, outdoor recreation, or large campus environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing small-to-medium infrastructure projects involving multiple business stakeholders and third-party vendors.
  • Proven track record of identifying, recommending, and implementing infrastructure improvements that increased reliability, operational efficiency, security, or user experience.
  • Experience participating in technology lifecycle planning, infrastructure standardization, technical debt reduction, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure, wireless bridge technologies, and outdoor networking solutions commonly used in mountain or campus environments.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $74,456.00 - $106,366.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
