Job Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a Lifestyle Associate to join our community committed to delivering outstanding activities to our residents. As a Lifestyle Associate, you will play an important role in all phases of planning of activities that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

  • Regularly survey and interview residents and work with resident led committee to determine the residents' past and present interests, talents, and their satisfaction with community programs and activities.
  • Develop and implement activities for the residents in accordance with their needs. Recognize the individuality, diversity and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.
  • Provide quality activities to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.
  • Provide individualized attention to each resident to encourage each resident's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating activities and programs for residents including games, reading, listening, and organizing community involvement.
  • Attend to the individual needs of residents which includes providing assistance with communications application, technology based requests activities and identifying residents' reactions to the various activities.
  • Use initiative and judgment to adapt programs to meet the needs of individual residents as well as the changing conditions of each resident.
  • Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
  • Develop and maintain communications of planned activities/programs. Communicate opportunities and success stories to residents and employees through newsletters, meetings, etc.
  • Coordinate the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the residence.

What you'll bring:

  • Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a High School Diploma (or G.E.D.). Prior related experience in wellness, fitness or recreational therapy in senior living preferred. Sales and marketing experience preferred.
  • Requires proficient working knowledge of the aging process as it relates to senior adults in an independent living setting.
  • Requires knowledge of residents' rights and ability to ensure an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
  • Requires ability to organize activities and work with other departments and/or units to implement the activities.
  • Requires ability to encourage teamwork with residents and/or staff members.
  • Requires ability to effectively communicate with residents, staff members, family members, visitors and the public utilizing excellent customer service skills.
  • Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Requires ability to work independently with moderate supervision; ability to adapt to changing conditions and frequent demands; ability to acquire new knowledge.
  • Requires ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings.
  • Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
