What Is a Life Coach?

A Life Coach helps people succeed in meeting their goals through counseling and encouragement. As a Life Coach, you listen to your client’s situation and needs, helping them find opportunities and solutions to overcome the obstacles一mental or otherwise一that are preventing them from meeting their goals. You work with your clients on many aspects and difficulties in their life, such as coping with grief, job loss, relationship challenges, and financial wellbeing. You do not attempt to solve your client’s problems for them. Instead, you provide information, outside perspective, and a safe place to process their challenges so that they can find their own best path to success.

Is being a life coach a good career?

A career as a life coach involves helping clients achieve personal or professional goals through guidance and support, often requiring certification and strong interpersonal skills. The profession can be flexible with self-employment options, but income varies based on experience, niche, and client base. Job satisfaction depends on individual motivation and ability to build a client following.

What are some common challenges life coaches face when supporting clients, and how can they manage these effectively?

Life coaches often encounter challenges such as clients struggling with motivation, resistance to change, or unclear goals. To manage these effectively, coaches use active listening, powerful questioning, and goal-setting frameworks to help clients gain clarity and commitment. Regular self-reflection, professional supervision, and continuous learning also support coaches in handling diverse client needs and maintaining professional boundaries. Building a trusting rapport and adapting coaching techniques to individual situations are key to overcoming these challenges.

Job description

‍♂️ Athletes Wanted – Turn Your Passion into Purpose!

Love sports?

Bass Athletics is looking for motivated, sports-minded individuals to join our team as Performance Coaches — the perfect role for those who want to turn athletic experience into impact.

If you're a former athlete or fitness enthusiast who thrives in high-energy environments and loves helping others grow, this is your shot to build a career doing what you love.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead small-group training sessions (up to 10 athletes per group) focused on speed, agility, and strength for student-athletes ages 7 and up.

  • Teach and inspire athletes using our proven Bass Athletics training system.

  • Get certified as a Bass Performance Coach — we’ll train you on our system and philosophy.

  • Bring energy, lead with confidence, and build future champions every day.

  • Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with parents and athletes to upsell programs and offerings.

  • Maintain the facility’s cleanliness and professionalism to ensure a top-tier training experience.

  • Represent Bass Athletics’ core values of Authenticity, Growth, and Consistency, while embracing our high-energy coaching culture.

⚙️ What We’re Looking For

  • Athletic background (former athlete preferred).

  • At least 1 year of experience coaching or training youth athletes (required).

  • Ability to physically demonstrate movement, speed, and strength techniques confidently — or learn to do so through training.

  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

  • Strong communicator who connects with both athletes and parents.

  • Passionate, coachable, and eager to learn from experienced professionals.

  • Positive attitude and high personal standards for punctuality and professionalism.

Position Details

  • Part-Time (with potential to grow into Full-Time)

  • Compensation: $18/hour + 30% Revenue Share for each new athlete you personally enroll.

    • This means every athlete who signs up through your direct engagement earns you a percentage of their membership revenue — a performance-based incentive designed to reward impact and growth.

  • Location: Corona, CA

  • Schedule: Evenings and/or weekends required

  • Education: High School Diploma (minimum)
