Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Provides circulation and reserves services to library patrons.
• Assists patrons with library technology, including printing & scanning.
• Performs collections of maintenance operations for print and electronic materials.
• Provides directional assistance and ready reference for library patrons in a variety of modalities: in- person, phone, chat, email.
• Interprets library policy and services to users.
• Participates in training and skill development with other members of the libraries team.
• Scan and digitize materials for inclusion in Jefferson Digital Commons. Assist with other University Archives projects as assigned.
• Substitute for other members of the department as needed.
• Cross-train for Library Resource functions and provide coverage as needed.
• Maintains appropriate records and statistics.
• Contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for all.
• Serve as "designated emergency staff" during weather & other emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience using personal computers, Apple desktop & mobile devices, and major software programs
  (email, web browser, Microsoft Office).
• Proven commitment to customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years library work experience
• Knowledge of and experience using Springshare library tools is preferred.

Additional Qualifications

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
