POSITION: Systems Developer/Database Integrator
LOCATION: Nashua High South Technology Office
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
WORK YEAR: Full time, 12 months
SALARY RANGE: Competitive Salary and benefits
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors' degree preferably in computer science, Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Adept at working in a team environment and designing creative solutions for information management. Knowledge of SQL, Data Normalization, some knowledge of Java. Specific knowledge of Microsoft Office and SQL Server, X2 Aspen and Crystal Reports are desirable. Ability to troubleshoot in a computer networked environment. We are seeking candidates with a desire and ability to learn, excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position will work with the Network Administrator (if necessary) on SQL Server issues. Requires strong interpersonal skills to assist school district staff in all levels of customer support and work as a team with other members of the Technology Department. Must be able to plan and organize workload, work independently and provide excellent customer support through effective communication and team attitude. Must be able to perform training sessions on technical issues as necessary. Must possess creativity and expertise in IT disciplines with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reporting to the Director of Technology will be responsible for providing technical assistance to users, resolving system related issues, for users in person, via telephone, or from a remote location using our helpdesk system. This position will provide primary expertise in the development of existing or new functionality using vendor standards (eg. Java and Aspen conventions). This position will work as part of a team to provide support and training (both one on one and classroom) for all applications in use by District. Applications include X2 Aspen Student Information System, Follett Destiny Library System, Kentico for our school
websites, Microsoft Office Suite, and a variety of other third party and custom software applications. This position is designed to maximize the interoperability of all system applications within the district, and is responsible for maintaining, designing, analyzing and implementing current and future database infrastructure(s). The Systems Application Developer will act as a technical advisor to administration and outside software application developers while documenting these systems components and user instructions.
