Position Summary:

Job Description:

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Head of Access Services. This position reports to the Director of Library Services, works closely with Western students and faculty, and is responsible for overseeing library circulation processes and student assistant supervision.

Responsibilities: Head of Access Services is responsible for participating in the daily operations of circulating library materials, including the management of patron records and collections maintenance, as well as staffing the combined circulation-reference desk and reference chat, responding to questions from campus and community patrons. This position also manages undergraduate student library assistants, including hiring, training, and supervision.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. One-year experience in customer service, administrative, or clerical roles; supervisory experience; demonstrated ability to learn new computer applications; collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a library setting.

Compensation: This full-time, FLSA exempt position offers an annual base salary rate of $49,900 to $51,000. This position is FLSA exempt. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
