We are seeking a hands-on, expertC++ Software Engineering Leadto guide a specialized team focused on high-performance computing and real-time data processing. This role is for a seasoned C++ developer who is passionate about architecting complex systems, optimizing performance-critical code, and mentoring a team to achieve technical excellence. You will remain deeply involved in the code, leading by example while steering the team's technical strategy.

This position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio and is within a commutable distance from Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.

  • Mentor a team of software engineers through hands-on guidance, rigorous code reviews, and the promotion of best practices in software development.

  • Profile, debug, and resolve complex technical challenges in a multi-threaded, performance-sensitive environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ (C++14 or newer), with a deep understanding of the C++ standard library, object-oriented design, and memory management.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing complex, multi-threaded, or performance-critical software systems in C++.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, including code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Clearance: Minimum Secret clearance is required to start.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with enhanced security checks.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools.
  • Experience with CUDA
  • Experience with high-performance libraries.
  • Familiarity with C++ build systems like CMake.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of Linux development environments.
Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
