Job Summary

As an IT Specialist at B&L, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining our local infrastructure and the B&L Cloud. The B&L Cloud runs our Odyssey ERP software. This role suits someone dedicated to the IT craft who seeks out new technologies with a curious mind and a desire to learn.Your responsibilities include the configuration, operation, and administration of network and cloud server hardware and software. You'll assist the Technology Team's engineers with managing new and existing systems, so that Odyssey ERP stays secure and highly performant. You'll use AI tools to manage B&L's infrastructure more effectively, and support the use of AI across the company.You'll also build and maintain the tools and scripts that support B&L's internal and external systems, using modern application and database programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to customers who use Odyssey ERP.
  • Perform Odyssey ERP software upgrades to customer systems.
  • Manage, support, and maintain internal systems and computers used by B&L employees.
  • Manage, support, and troubleshoot customer database systems.
  • Assist in the configuration, monitoring, and optimization of internal and cloud network infrastructure for performance, availability, low maintenance, and reasonable cost.
  • Analyze, recommend, and evaluate new hardware, software, and communications products for network compatibility and applicability.
  • Design and build tools and applications that support the management of the B&L Cloud and Odyssey ERP.
  • Develop, maintain, and update a library of technical documentation.
  • Assist in training other employees on internal technology systems.
  • Learn new tools and technologies, both independently and through instruction.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Associate's degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable ability to write in PowerShell, Python, or another scripting language.
  • Demonstrable ability to write basic SQL queries.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Familiarity with LLMs, MCP servers, and MCP connectors.
  • Managing self-guided and assigned projects.
  • Writing and maintaining scripts.
  • Managing and configuring Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Managing and configuring Linux environments.
  • Managing and maintaining an ERP or other database system.
  • Managing and maintaining a SQL-based database system.
Compensation
  • $60,000 - $70,000 base salary, based on experience.
  • This is a profit sharing bonus-eligible position.

Additional Details
