Salary Range: $15.28 - $16.47 or per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Maximum salary upon new hire is $15.28.
Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: To be scheduled by the department as needed, but not to exceed 30 hours per week. Days and hours may vary and may include evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must provide extensive customer service with courtesy and concerned attention to individual needs. Must create and maintain an environment that creates a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and student success. Will provide direct assistance to accommodate client needs and must be able to deal with diverse populations. Must be computer literate and have keyboard skills. Must be familiar with Windows applications. Must work with the integrated Library system.
Supervision: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Library Manager SUPERVISION GIVEN: May provide direction to and oversee work assignments of other part-time staff as assigned.
Job Function
Provide assistance with informational need to faculty, staff and students.
Job Responsibilities
- Circulate books and library materials
- Troubleshoot copy machines and printers
- Distribute mail
- Answer directional and informational questions
- Answer telephones
- Assist with the opening and closing of the building
- Technical automated projects including bills and fines, reserve record maintenance, statistics and serial check-ins
- Implement library policies and procedures
- Represent MCC to the community
- Answer questions on College events and activities
- Provide support to the full-time library staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Qualifications
Six months office or library work experience.
