8:00 AM to 3:30 PM - 10.5 months

Salary:

$24.55/hr per SRP Contract

Duties:

  • Use appropriate library automation software for cataloging, processing library materials, patron circulation, overdue notices, statistics, reports, inventory and other tasks

  • Prepare purchase orders and requisitions

  • Receive and process books, materials and equipment and reconcile with packing slips and invoices

  • Catalog new materials and maintain integrity of database records

  • Manage inventory and track overdue materials

  • Organize and maintain the library collection

  • Assist students and staff with finding resources and information

  • Monitor students' behavior and maintain an orderly atmosphere

  • Maintain a welcoming and organized library environment

  • Prepare bulletin boards, displays and appropriate signage

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in library clerical work that includes keyboarding/typing.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite databases.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral/written instructions.

  • Demonstrable clerical aptitude, neatness, tact, and courtesy.

  • Able to take initiative to make the library a true resource.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Proven ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and parents.

  • Experience working with young students in an educational setting is preferred.
