Job description

We love our school-agers. They bring to our center a level of vibrancy and enthusiasm that keep us on our toes โ€“ but we wouldnโ€™t have it any other way!

We use the Creative Curriculum to design a learning environment that includes centers such as blocks, art, library, sand and water, music and movement and cooking.

The school-age teacher will create a stimulating learning environment by:

  • Managing the classroom atmosphere, including nurturing children and planning a classroom curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and incorporates child appropriate activities.
  • Maintaining communication with parents and providing homework assistance during the school year
  • Assisting in planning summer camp activities
  • Using positive approaches to help children solve problems
  • Arranging the classroom in well-defined learning centers that are clearly labeled, clutter-free, and reflect childrenโ€™s interests and encourage independent use
  • HS diploma required; students currently in school for Early Childhood Education strongly encouraged to apply!
  • Knowledge of creative curriculum and NAC accreditation standards
  • Minimum 1 year of experience

The hours currently needed are from 11:30a thru 3:30p Mon-Fri then will move to 8:30a to 4:30p
